Healthy Families North Florida is part of a nationally-accredited statewide system of voluntary, community-based home visiting programs serving Calhoun, Holmes, Jackson, Washington and many other area counties. Healthy Families home visitors partner with parents to help children grow to their full potential physically, emotionally and socially. Families can enroll in Healthy Families during pregnancy or at the birth of a child and can continue receiving services for up to five years.

During home visits, Healthy Families home visitors provide parents with information on child development, positive parent-child interaction, home safety and other topics such as safe infant sleep, drowning prevention and car safety. They also connect families to health care providers and other community services to meet their unique needs and encourage parents to set and achieve goals including finding employment, continuing their education or enrolling in job training.

Successful families are the foundation of a healthy community and strong economy. Healthy Families’ intensive, long-term services have been proven to prevent child abuse and neglect and improve maternal and child health, parent-child interaction and family self-sufficiency.
