Hurricane Supplies:

Have enough disaster supplies for two weeks on hand.
Keep items in airtight plastic bags and in an easy-to-find location. Replace stored food and water every six months. Re-think your kit and family needs at least once a year (replace batteries, update clothing, etc.) Ask your doctor or pharmacist about storing prescription medications.

Family members should also discuss and plan for additional supplies that might be needed over an extended period of time. Some supplies will be required in the event you elect to stay in your home. Others may be required if you evacuate or relocate or go to a shelter. Store supplies so they are clearly accessible and identifiable. After a hurricane watch is issued, there may be a high demand and a short supply of many items.
